BDMD Architects was the architect and landscape architect for this six-story Hilton Garden Inn with business friendly facilities. As a part of a larger 7-acre, 155,000-square-foot, $57 million brownfield redevelopment project, the Hilton Garden Inn features a user-friendly pick up and drop off area adjacent to surface or garage parking. Pedestrian friendly street crossings lead to the adjacent Tapawingo Park amenities and pedestrian bridge across the Wabash River, as well as an outdoor lifestyle dining and retail environment. Unique to the project was the local, state and federal funding sources that all required different construction documentation requirements. The Hilton Garden Inn is an excellent example of infill development on a redeveloped brownfield site. The success of the Wabash Landing project is reflected in a public statement by the President of the West Lafayette Redevelopment Commission: “Wabash Landing is the premier retail, eating and lodging location in Tippecanoe County. It is at the core of our community's revitalized downtown.”
