This AAA ballpark, home of the Indianapolis Indians, is located on 13.9 acres of what was a neglected corner in downtown Indianapolis but is now a thriving hub of activity. The stadium provides seating for more than 13,000 spectators with additional seating on a picnic berm beyond the outfield wall. The main entry gate and ticketing facility serves as the welcoming face of the ballpark toward the city. Concrete pavers radiate from the stadium's support piers to the street's edge, guiding patrons toward the entrances. Just inside the ballpark the Indianapolis Indians logo is presented in a composition of concrete pavers set into the concourse. Plant material along the site perimeter was selected to complement plantings along the adjoining streetscape and in nearby White River State Park. The site required significant soil modification and installation of an automatic irrigation system to make the establishment of turf and plantings possible.
