Sports Master Plan, Franklin College
Franklin, Indiana
Franklin College acquired 250 acres on the eastern side of their campus and asked BDMD Architects to prepare a master plan to determine the amount of the newly acquired land needed to expand their athletic fields. The program included a new competition track and field area, women's softball field, three practice soccer fields, three practice football fields, tennis courts, a multipurpose concession stand and equipment storage building and sufficient parking to support the facilities. Pedestrian access to the site from campus was critical as most of the students would walk to the facility from campus. Vehicular access to the site was also necessary to accommodate visiting teams and spectators during athletic events.
