In 2002, BDMD Architects began a Visioning Study process for the City of Columbus to determine what the community members would like to see happen at the entrance to the city along the East Fork of the White River. Numerous meetings and work sessions were held to solicit opinion from citizens and interest groups. The community's goals are to create an active, attractive and accessible riverfront; to enhance and develop communities from downtown to the riverfront; to create a central hub for the People Trail System; and to create a variety of experiences at the riverfront. The resulting document serves as a guide for the Mayor and other civic leaders as they begin the process of revitalizing Columbus' riverfront.
