Indianapolis is going to be home to “ the best zoo habitat for orangutans anywhere in the world”, according to world renowned orangutan expert Robert Shumaker. The International Orangutan Center at the Indianapolis Zoo, designed by Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf Architects, was unveiled to the world on Tuesday, December 6 at the IMAX Theater in Indianapolis. This exhibit will be build in the heart of the Zoo and will cover more than 4 acres. The $20 Million project is scheduled to open in 2014 and will be the only one of its kind in the world.
