Brett SchlachterUrban Designer and Landscape Architect
Brett Schlachter is an urban designer and landscape architect at Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf. During his studies at Ball State University, Brett developed an interest in the site and larger scale planning and design of a project and of cities, including the many layers and intricacies both large and small scale that make up a city. Brett earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Ball State University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Design from Ball State’s Master of Urban Design program. Brett loves the challenge of solving difficult or heavily constrained design problems to provide both a functional and enduring solution. He provides leadership for the team and uses GIS planning for various projects. Brett also participates in various organizations such as American Society of Landscape Architects and Urban Land Institute, and events centered around cities and urban design. During his free time, Brett enjoys coding computer programs, scripts and has his own urban design website, as well as brewing beer and playing the guitar. He also has a unique collection of bow-ties, including one made of wood.
