John Dierdorf Architecture Firm Indianapolis

John M. Dierdorf, AIAPrincipal, Chairman of the Board

John is a Principal and the Chairman of the Board of Browning Day. The leader of our sports studio, John is recognized for his design of award-winning sports venues across the United States. He was the Associate Architect of Lucas Oil Stadium and Victory Field Baseball Stadium. His versatility and creativity have allowed him to work on a variety of projects including club/hospitality, government/civic and corporate/commercial architecture. Hanging out with his Industrial Arts teacher father piqued his interest in how things go from the idea stage to being constructed. After more than 40 years in the profession, the process of meeting with clients, hearing their needs and translating their dreams into conceptual designs that further their vision, and actually seeing the building constructed still gives him the most satisfaction. When he is not gardening, golfing or painting, John is probably cooking for his family.

John is a graduate of Ball State University, College of Architecture and Planning where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1974. A member of the Browning Day staff since 1974, he became a principal of the firm in 1982.
