2016 Doral Parks Master PlanDoral, Florida

The City of Doral is a small but rapidly growing community immediately west to Miami, Florida. Browning Day was pleased to be selected to undertake the development of Doral’s 2016 Parks and Recreation System Master Plan (currently in-process). This plan will strategically plan the future of Doral’s parks and open space system, including a conceptual master plan for the City’s largest park; Doral Central Park. For this effort, Browning Day has assembled a world-class planning team, scoring 492 out of a possible 500 points in the City’s RFQ evaluation process. The project kicked off in the fall of 2015, and is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2016. For ongoing updates regarding the planning process, please visit www.PlayDoral.com

Ryan Cambridge, PLA began working with the City of Doral in 2010, while with AECOM, and helped to lead the development of the City’s first Parks and Recreation System Master Plan, which identified over $160M in needed improvements. Following the successful completion of the 2010 Park System Master Plan, Ryan helped lead the City though the development of multiple additional planning and design efforts such as the Trails and Tails Park Master Plan (the City’s first dog park within an urban utility easement and stormwater basin), JC Bermudez Park Concept Plan Alternates ($68M regional park), and the 114th Street Park Master Plan ($15M urban park). Since joining Browning Day, Ryan has had the privilege of continuing to work with the City on the Doral Mountain Bike Park Master Plan, the Morgan Levy Park Turf Replacement project, and now the 2016 Park and Recreation System Master Plan.

“Our Department has several years of experience working with Mr. Cambridge prior to him joining Browning Day on other park projects which include the first City of Doral Parks System Master Plan, Trails and Tails Park Construction Documents, and Doral Mountain Bike Park Concept Plan. Our Department has had nothing but great experiences working with Mr. Cambridge on these projects. Mr. Cambridge exudes a great amount of passion for the Parks & Recreation field which is extremely helpful during the planning, design, and construction phase of projects.” – Barbara Hernandez, CPRP, City of Doral Parks and Recreation Director
